The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies towards the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency claimed it's alarmed about the large range of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a substantial amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office devoted to service the area on a daily basis. The support position designed for intervention activities a large influx of potential read more beneficiaries, that makes it difficult with the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to empower the servicing of all consumers and increase entry to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
